This photograph, taken in 1942, shows a group of Polish deportees living in in the village of Kachyry, Pavlodar Oblast, Kazakhstan. Among the deportees you can see Longin Glijer (lying on the ground) at the right end of the first row. He was deported to the Irtysh river region in April 1940 with his mother Aniela and two brothers, Ryszard and Jan. He remembers several people with whom he shared his deportation fate: Mrs Durakowa, Mrs Markowska, Mrs Rafałowa, the Szablowski family, the Świrniak family, and Mrs Edmunda Załuska (who acted as a shop steward). Are these people also in this photograph?
