The peaceful life of the Sieczko family was interrupted by the outbreak of the Second World War. When the Soviets decided to deport the Sieczko family, they managed to take with them, among other things, a sewing machine. Although it was heavy and unwieldy, it saved their lives in Siberia. They were able to sew clothes not only for themselves but also for other deportees, in return for which they received food and other things. This is the subject of a documentary entitled Kresy w przedmiotach zaklęte. Historia rodziny Sieczko [Kresy is Enchanted in Objects. The History of the Sieczko Family].
