30.10.1989 – Russian Day of Remembrance for Victims of Political Repressions
On October 30, 1989 three thousand people with candles in their hands surrounded the KGB building in Moscow. They wanted to show they remember about the victims of the Stalin crimes.
4.07.1928 – The Founding Convention of the Sybiraks’ Association
On 4 July 1928, the founding congress of the Sybiraks' Association was held at the Warsaw University of Technology.
12.02.1833 – Glass and eye
On 12 February 1833, Aleksander Czekanowski was born in Krzemieniec in Volhynia. He trained as a geologist, but was not given the freedom to pursue his career as he was sent to Siberia at the age of 30 for taking part in the January Uprising.
